I haven't updated many wedding details recently, but lots has been going on! Last week I took off 1/2 day to go to Columbia and meet with a florist to discuss the flowers. As many of you may remember, the 1st one found out she was due with her baby the week after the wedding so she cancelled, which is understandable. The new florist is just as nice and easy to work with as the 1st. He should come in right around the same budget as the first. Since Southern Stems had initially been a little lower than we had planned, Chris and I decided to book a videographer with the little bit of extra money we had alloted for the florist. When she cancelled I started getting nervous that we wern't going to find someone within that same range, but Jim seems to be a perfect fit! Whew!
After that meeting, mom and I went over to Sterling Gardens to meet with the Reception Hall Coordinator/Man-in-Charge :) and review the layout of the reception, food, lighting, etc. Dupre is a fantastic caterer, although I must admit I do get a little nervous over the small details. I'm slowly learning, don't sweat the small stuff. I was able to glance in the building where we are having the rehearsal dinner. There actually was a dinner being held there with little people. So, you may ask how did I manage to include myself in their rehearsal dinner. Actually I saw a guy that I used to work with at Enterprise many years ago and he was in the wedding party so he dragged me in so I could see the layout. Dupre has really done a fabulous job of getting this building up and running. It looked great inside and is the perfect size for the rehearsal.
Today on my way back to Columbia, I met mom at EmbroidMe on Harbison Blvd. We designed the koozies, cups and glasses for the dinners. I just love them and hope everyone will also. I can't wait for Chris to see the proof this weekend. I tried not to pick out anything that was too girly or fancy.
Oh yeah, on Sunday Chris and I registered at Target. I know I've said I'll never register there because of the horror stories I've heard about returns, but there just wasn't another place that offered a chance to register for such a wide variety of things. From a meat thermometer to tailgate chairs to lamps to a fold up table. We are super excited about our next shower in October...a kitchen shower here in Greenville.
