...how did I forget?

Saturday morning we participated in the Susan G. Koman Race For The Cure in Greenville. Last year I participated with Enterprise, but this year was with the Junior League. Chris was completely on board with participating in the event with me. Whew...glad I didn't have to do it myself and during the race he was so encouraging when we were running. Although we didn't run the 5k, we did have a plan in place. Walk up hill, run down hill. We thought it was a grand idea and so did our legs! :) On a serious note, before the race they had a survivors walk and it was amazing to see all the women that have/had breast cancer. There was even a lady that had been a survivor for over 40 years. My grandmother had breast cancer, so this race has a special meaning to me and I know it does for many others.

Before the race...

...and after! hot, sweaty, and tired!

It's Sunday Night

So...it's Sunday night and I really, really need to do an update. I have some great pictures from this weekend below and I'm sure they represent what our weekend consisted of. Football! Are you catching on to the theme of our weekends? We live in the south so it's completed accepted right? Of course!

Also, this weekend I finally got in the last of the items I had ordered for my friends that just had twins, 1 boy & 1 girl. I promise as soon as I am able to give them the gift I'll post pictures of what I had ordered for them. Aw, the items are cute, but believe me, the kids are even cuter. I wish I had a picture of them too, but I don't. I'll add that to my to-do list.

At small group tonight we put some solid plans in place to visit an apple orchard, which I am so excited about! I had wanted Chris and I to go just as a fun weekend activity so I did a little research and found that the "Pink Lady" apples won't be available for picking until middle of October. Guess when our small group is going. Right! Middle of October. WhooHoo! If you haven't tried a "Pink Lady" we highly recommend it. Very hard, but still very sweet. Check back in the middle of October for some pictures.

This is what Kristie and I walked back into Saturday night after making a quick trip to Hobby Lobby and Zaxby's to pick up wings. I wish you could have seen their happy faces!

THIS was what they had been busy doing while we were shopping! 3 games at one time, I couldn't even think straight.

Nope, it is not that we are about to melt! :)

Some Small Updates

I haven't updated many wedding details recently, but lots has been going on! Last week I took off 1/2 day to go to Columbia and meet with a florist to discuss the flowers. As many of you may remember, the 1st one found out she was due with her baby the week after the wedding so she cancelled, which is understandable. The new florist is just as nice and easy to work with as the 1st. He should come in right around the same budget as the first. Since Southern Stems had initially been a little lower than we had planned, Chris and I decided to book a videographer with the little bit of extra money we had alloted for the florist. When she cancelled I started getting nervous that we wern't going to find someone within that same range, but Jim seems to be a perfect fit! Whew!
After that meeting, mom and I went over to Sterling Gardens to meet with the Reception Hall Coordinator/Man-in-Charge :) and review the layout of the reception, food, lighting, etc. Dupre is a fantastic caterer, although I must admit I do get a little nervous over the small details. I'm slowly learning, don't sweat the small stuff. I was able to glance in the building where we are having the rehearsal dinner. There actually was a dinner being held there with little people. So, you may ask how did I manage to include myself in their rehearsal dinner. Actually I saw a guy that I used to work with at Enterprise many years ago and he was in the wedding party so he dragged me in so I could see the layout. Dupre has really done a fabulous job of getting this building up and running. It looked great inside and is the perfect size for the rehearsal.
Today on my way back to Columbia, I met mom at EmbroidMe on Harbison Blvd. We designed the koozies, cups and glasses for the dinners. I just love them and hope everyone will also. I can't wait for Chris to see the proof this weekend. I tried not to pick out anything that was too girly or fancy.

Oh yeah, on Sunday Chris and I registered at Target. I know I've said I'll never register there because of the horror stories I've heard about returns, but there just wasn't another place that offered a chance to register for such a wide variety of things. From a meat thermometer to tailgate chairs to lamps to a fold up table. We are super excited about our next shower in October...a kitchen shower here in Greenville.

Go Tigers!

Me & Dad
The Future Family ;-)
Lawrence & Ann
Me & Chris
This weekend we went to the first home game of our Clemson Tigers. Although it was a 3:30 game, we were leaving the house in Greenville at 7:45 to meet our friends at 8:30 in Easley. Crazy, right? Yes, we know it but we love it. There isn't anywhere else we would rather be on a Saturday in the fall. Speaking of fall, the weather certainly did not feel like fall. It was so hot and we were sitting in the top deck with no shade. I'm so glad we lathered up with 30spf sunscreen, thanks to our friend Kristie. :)

The guys at out tailgating spot: Chris, Chris, Bob, and Keith did a great job of setting up a tent, TV and a grill. Chris, Kristie's husband grilled thinly sliced NY strip and it was delicious! We had such a good time relaxing, laughing, and gearing up for the game.

Right before the game, Chris and I left to go meet my parents that were tailgating just a few spots away. I have included some of the pictures. I was curious as to what colors Lawrence would be wearing...he showed up in his bulldog blue. I know he was happy with whatever the outcome would be.

Adorable or Tacky?

I have always wanted a feather wreath. I first saw them at Target years ago during Christmas time and swore that I would get one when they went on sale. Well, unfortunately they were all sold by that time. Today, I visited a website that a friend had referred to on her blog, http://www.plumparty.com/. They had an orange feather wreath! Perfect for me, right? I could put it on my front door on game days and during Halloween. So...what do you think? Adorable or Tacky?

Pictures from Dallas

At this point I was hot and trying to keep myself entertained. :)
There were probably over 80 of these longhorns in a public park. Very nice!
A picture of the Dallas skyline from the grassy knoll.Recognize it? Dallas...Southfork Ranch
Leaving the Southfork Ranch out the back staircase.
At a Texas Rangers game.
The grassy knoll.

The 6th floor window on the far right of the building is where Lee Harvey Oswald shot JFK from.
